Our commitment to accessibility
Last updated October 12, 2026
Smile R Us Dentistry & Orthodontics wants everyone in our community to be able to use our website, whatever their abilities or the technology they rely on. We are committed to making smile-r-us.com usable for people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, and other assistive tools.
The standard we follow
We work to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard used in the United States to measure web accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act. We review our site against these guidelines and make improvements on an ongoing basis.
What we’ve done
Steps we’ve taken to make this site easier to use include:
- Text and background colors chosen to stay readable at AA contrast levels.
- A “skip to main content” link and a clear, consistent heading structure.
- Full keyboard access, with a visible outline showing where you are on the page.
- Descriptive text alternatives for images, and clear labels on links and buttons.
- A layout that adapts to phones, tablets, and zoomed-in screens without breaking.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting, with a control to pause any moving content.
Ongoing effort
Accessibility is a continuing process rather than a one-time project. Automated testing can only find part of what matters, so we also rely on feedback from the people who use our site. Some content, or features provided by third parties such as embedded maps, may not yet be fully accessible, and we are working to improve those areas.
